Having a warm beverage during a long flight, or frequent travel does wonders for the body. In Ayurveda, it is believed that Vata Dosha gets severely aggravated when the body is made to travel long distances. This results in pain, fatigue and the very dreaded jetlag that follows. To avoid the nuisances of aggravated Vata, try to stick to warm beverages, rather than cold ones, (especially with ice).

Tea

A good cup of tea should have a pinch of black pepper. The warming qualities of Black Pepper counteract bloating, gas, constipation and overall discomfort and keeps Vata Dosha in balance.
