Because it literally translates into the ‘Science of Life’, it is evolutionary in every sense. An Ayurvedic Physician is one who has studied this ancient science in great depth, from what is known as the ‘Shastras’. Ayurveda is based on the principles of ‘Dosha‘ – which are the primordial energies of every living creature.

More information about the Doshas can be found here.

These Doshas give rise to health and wellness, as well as disease and death. Ayurvedic principles center around maintaining equilibrium of these energies, according to one’s own genetic makeup, which is known in Ayurveda as ‘Prakruti’.
